As we have been accustomed since its inception, the new coin of the series "America the Beautiful Quarter", first of this 2020, presents a beautiful design. Dedicated to the «American Samoa National Park», the 25 cent piece depicts the images of a bat attached to its young, next to which it will remain so during the first months of its life. The currency will be officially issued, as a currency, on February 3.

The design of Richard Masters, represents a mother of bat Pteropus samoensis , (flying fox of Samoa) hanging from a tree with her young, evoking the remarkable care and energy that this species puts in its offspring. The design is intended to promote awareness of the threatened status of the species due to habitat loss and commercial hunting. The American Samoa National Park is the only park in the United States that houses this bat. The inscriptions are «NATIONAL PARK», «AMERICAN SAMOA», «2020» and «E PLURIBUS UNUM» (Of many, one).

On the obverse of all the coins in the series, President George Washington is represented, in a version restored by John Flanagan in 2010 of the original portrait used in 1932 in the Washington Quarter.
