The Bank of Russia put into circulation on January 14 5 million coins of 10 bimetallic rubles, belonging to the series "Russian Federation", dedicated on this occasion to the Region (Oblast) of Moscow.

The Moscow region is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It belongs to the Central Federal District. It has an area of ​​44.3 thousand square kilometers where a population of more than 7.5 million people lives. It was established in 1929.

The Moscow region has the second largest budget among the territories that make up the Russian Federation. The industry and the economy of the region are developing at an accelerated pace: approximately 100 new and modern companies open each year.

The region has one of the largest scientific and technological complexes in all of Russia. The scientific research organizations in the region belong mainly to the public sector, more than half of them are part of the country's military-industrial complex.

There are several major research companies belonging to the aerospace industry in the region, including the Mission Control Centers in Korolev and Krasnoznamensk, and several testing facilities.

The tourism industry is actively growing in the Moscow region. It has a regional spa and health complex that includes more than a thousand recreational facilities (health centers, guest houses for vacations, accommodation and health camps designed for children).







On the reverse of the coin, in its central core, the coat of arms of the Moscow region is shown, on the ring the inscriptions, on the top "Russian Federation" and on the bottom "Moscow Region" complete the composition.





The obverse of the coin, in the upper part of the ring shows the inscription "Bank of Russia", in the lower part "2020". To the left and right of the ring a branch of laurel and oak, respectively, elements that invade the central disk. In the center are the number "10" and the inscription "ruble" indicating the value of the coin. Within the figure "0" in a latent image you can see the figure "10" and the inscription "rub". The mint mark is shown at the bottom.
