Next November 16 is the date of the next issue of coins that will be put on sale by the National Mint and Stamp Factory - Real Casa de la Moneda. It is the "XII Ibero-American Series", which this time has as its theme "Historical Railroads". The coins show some classic trains from the seven participating countries: Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Portugal.
Included in the collection is a commemorative silver medal with the same technical specifications as the coins: 13.5 grams of sterling silver, 33 mm in diameter and Proof minting quality.
The obverse sides of the coins represent the national coat of arms of the issuing country, surrounded by the remaining coat of arms of the issuing countries.
The coins can be purchased as a complete collection, presented in the case that you see in the image, at a price of € 285, with a maximum circulation of 2,500 units.
The other possibility is the acquisition of the Spanish currency presented in an individual case, at a price of € 42.35. The circulation of this piece is 7000 units.
On the reverse, in the center of the coin, a color image of the replica of the Mataró locomotive is reproduced, which is exhibited in the Railway Museum of Catalonia, in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Above this image, in capital letters, the value of the piece 5 EURO; on the right, the mint mark. In the upper part of the coin, in a circular sense and in capital letters, the legend XII SERIE IBEROAMERICANA; below, in a circular sense and in capital letters, the legend LOCOMOTORA BARCELONA-MATARÓ. At the bottom of the coin, in a circular sense and in capital letters, the legend TRENES HISTÓRICOS.
On the obverse, in the central area of the piece, the Shield of Spain is reproduced within a circle. Surrounding it, in capital letters, the legend FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA and, between two points, the minting date 2020; all framed with a molding. Surrounding the entire central theme, in alphabetical order and in a clockwise direction, appear the national coats of arms of the countries participating in this broadcast: Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Portugal.
