An ancient legend says that a true Kazakh nomad had seven main treasures: courage, a smart and beautiful wife, a devoted dog, extensive knowledge, a good gun, a fast horse, and a hunting golden eagle. It was believed that an intelligent wife would protect the family home, a faithful dog would aid in hunting, a good pistol would not let him down in battle, a fast horse and a hunting golden eagle would help in crucial moments, and extensive knowledge would help him take Right decisions.

The Bank The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation a series of seven coins under the name of "JETI QAZYNA" (Seven Treasures), which represent the seven treasures that an authentic Kazakh nomad should have.

These are bimetallic coins with 100 tenge faces, each representing one of the “treasures”. For very few days the coins have been circulating in the country. They have also been put on sale, presented in a portfolio, these seven pieces in BU quality, plus another 200 tenge in cupronickel and Proof quality, dedicated to the same theme but with a different design. With the same image as the 200 tenge coin, 500 and 1000 tenge coins have been issued with faces minted in silver and gold.

The circulation coins have an issue volume of 500,000 pieces of each. In the press release provided by the Bank of Kazakhstan, it is emphasized that they are valid as a payment method, with the obligation to be accepted as such. As an anecdote, I have even been able to read that they urge citizens themselves to denounce those who do not accept them, with the recommendation of whether it is possible to present a video of the events. Curious, right?
