If the special circumstances in which we live due to the health crisis caused by the covid-19 allow it, in the second half of this 2020 the 12th Ibero-American Series of coins will be issued under the theme "Historic trains".
In 1992, the first Ibero-American series was broadcast. At the time, the simple fact that 14 countries agreed to mint a series of coins with a common theme was a cultural, economic and political achievement. To commemorate this union of cultures, the Ibero-American series was born and now, 28 years later, the collection has a place in the world of numismatics. The joint theme selected for the 12th edition of this series is "Historic Trains". The coins show some classic trains from the seven participating countries:
Spain - Paraguay
Ecuador - Nicaragua
Peru - Guatemala
Portugal
The obverse of the coins represent the national coat of arms of the country that issues it surrounded by the remaining coats of arms of the issuing countries. In the figure you can see the obverse of the Spanish coin.
A commemorative silver medal with the same technical specifications as the coins is included in the collection.
All the pieces share the same specifications: 13.5 grams of sterling silver, with a diameter of 33 mm. Most of them in color. The coinage of the collection is limited to 7,000 units. They can be purchased as a complete collection or the Spanish coin in an individual case.
