In April 25, the Bank of Ukraine issued a coin of 5 grivnas of the bimetallic type belonging to the series dedicated to its regions (oblast), this time to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In 2014, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was occupied by Russia. The forced annexation of Crimea is not recognized by Ukraine and a large part of the international community.
The obverse shows in the upper part the emblem of the State of Ukraine, the inscription: "National Bank of Ukraine" (top), the year of issue "2018", the face value, "five grivnas" (bottom), on the right , the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center we see a stylized composition with Crimean symbols: in the background Mount Ayu-Dag or bear mountain, on the waves an old ship, the Kan Palace of Bakhchisaray next to the Kherson roundabout, where Prince Vladimir was baptized . At the bottom, all together, a bunch of grapes, lavender flowers, an old vase and old tartar coins.
On the back of the coin is a stylized map of Ukraine, within the context of an ornament created by the Crimean artist Rustem Skibina. In the ring you can read the semicircular inscriptions "Autonomous Republic of Crimea" (above), "Ukraine" (below).
