On November 9, the Bank of Ukraine issued a coin with a facial of 2 grivnas, minted on an alloy of alpaca, dedicated to the artist, sculptor, Ukrainian graphic artist and pioneer of cubist sculpture, Alexander Archipenko.
The obverse of the coin shows as main motif a stylized composition of the artist's hands modeling one of his sculptures. In the upper part appears the emblem of the State of Ukraine, the inscription Ukraine; the year of issue, 2017, the mint mark of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine and the denomination 2 hryvnias.
The reverse shows a portrait of Alexander Archipenko, to the right and vertically the years in which he lived 1887 - 1964, further to the right a stylized composition of sculptures by Archipenko and the inscriptions in Ukrainian ALEXANDER (below) ARCHIPENKO (right).
