The Central Bank of the Philippines has put into circulation, on November 24, 2017, a bimetallic coin with a 10-storey facial dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Philippine national hero General Antonio Luna, who was also a scientist, writer and founder of the first Military Academy of the Philippines.
The reverse shows an image of the General on horseback, the epaulette (badge as a shoulder strap) for the rank of general brigade, a newspaper page with the title THE INDEPENDENCE and an inkwell under which appear the years 1866-2016 (year in the one that was fulfilled the 150th anniversary of his birth), under the logo of the Central Bank of the Philippines BSP.
The obverse of the commemorative coin shows the portrait of Antonio Luna, the inscriptions "REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS" and "HENERAL ANTONIO LUNA", the denomination 10-Floor, the mint mark and the signature of the General.
