The FNMT continues with the series of collection coins called "Treasures of Spanish Museums", which reproduce emblematic pieces of the museums of our country.

In this fifth series the pieces are dedicated to works that are preserved in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, one of the most important private collections of paintings assembled in the twentieth century and which in this 2017 marks its 25th anniversary. In total there are five coins, three with facials of 10 euros, one of 50 euros and another of 400 euros. The date of sale is next June 19.

Coins 10 euros

Rubens - Murillo



On the obverse of the first piece is reproduced in color an image of the work entitled "Venus and Cupid" by Pedro Pablo Rubens between 1606 and 1611. On the back is reproduced an image of the work "The Virgin and Child with santa Rosa de Viterbo »by Murillo about 1670.

Manet - Lawrence

On the obverse of the second piece is reproduced in colors an image of the work titled "Amazona de frente" by Édouard Manet towards 1882. On the reverse is reproduced an image of the work titled "Portrait of David Lyon", made by Thomas Lawrence around 1825.

Juan Gris - Degas


On the obverse of the third piece is reproduced in colors an image of the work entitled "Bottle and Fruit" by Juan Gris in 1919. On the back is reproduced an image of the work titled "Ballerina tipping (Green Dancer)" by Edgar Degas between 1877 and 1879.

Hopper - Wimar

On the obverse is reproduced in color an image of the work entitled "Hotel room" by Edward Hopper in 1931. On the back is reproduced an image of the work "The Lost Trail", made by Charles Ferdinand Wimar towards 1856.

Hans Holbein - Domenico Ghirlandaio

On the obverse is an image of the work entitled "Portrait of Henry VIII of England" by Hans Holbein the Younger about 1537. On the back is reproduced an image of the work entitled "Portrait of Giovanna Tornabuoni" by Domenico Ghirlandaio between 1489 and 1490.
