The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) has issued a collector's coin commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Official Gazette El Peruano, founded in 1825 and considered the oldest continuously operating institutional press medium in Latin America.

The Official Gazette El Peruano is the state newspaper of Peru and the oldest continuously operating media outlet in Latin America. It was founded on October 22, 1825, by decree of Liberator Simón Bolívar, with the purpose of publishing the legal norms, official provisions, and acts of the Peruvian State.

Throughout its 200-year history, it has accompanied the country's major political and social processes, consolidating its position as an official source of legal and administrative information. Currently, in addition to its print edition, it offers a modern digital platform, maintaining its institutional function as the official journal of the Republic.

The reverse of the coin depicts a representation of the newspaper's evolution over time, featuring an old linotype, evoking the origins of traditional printing, alongside a digital tablet, reflecting the newspaper's technological transformation. Also featured at the top is the national coat of arms, the name "El Peruano," the text "200 YEARS," and the period commemorated: "1825–2025."

On the obverse, there is the Coat of Arms, the text “BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ”, the year of issue and the denomination “UN SOL”.
