Next Wednesday, September 26, the Bank of Latvia will issue a commemorative 2 euro coin dedicated to the Zemgale Region (Semigalia). This coin completes the series dedicated to cultural and historical regions of Latvia. Four are the coins that make up the series that was launched in 2016 to commemorate the centenary of its independence in 2018.
On September 26, the new commemorative coin of 2 euros will be issued in the classic rolls of 25 coins and in a coincard. In addition, a special presentation containing the four coins of the series will be put on sale , all in coincards.
The motif shows the coat of arms of the region of Semigalia (Zemgale in Latvian). At the
top, there is the name of the issuing country "LATVIJA" and, at the bottom, the inscription "ZEMGALE"; on the right, the year of issue «2018». The twelve stars of the European flag appear in the circular crown of the coin.

While the 5,000 individual coin cards this year are available for sale at the price of 7.30 euros, the 2,000 complete games with the four coins in coincard have a price of 29 euros. These prices are those announced by the Bank of Latvia.
The coins that make up the series correspond to the regions of Vidzeme (2016) Kurzeme and Latgale (2017) and Zemgale (2018).
