The Universiade is the international sport competition between students, which is celebrated under the auspices of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name "Universiade" comes from the words "University" and "Olympic Games". The student competitions are held every two years, unlike the Olympic events that are every four years. Students between 17 and 25 years old and graduates who have received an academic degree or a diploma in the year prior to the competition may participate.

The Russian city of Krasnoyarsk will be responsible for hosting the 29th Winter University 2019 from 2 to 12 March next year, which will compete in eleven different sports. To commemorate the sporting event, the Bank of Russia has circulated two coins, both with a facial of 10 rubles, where the mascot and the logo of these world sports games are represented.

On the back of the first coin is a relief image of U-Laika, official mascot of the Winter Universiade, the inscription "UNIVERSIADA DE INVIERNO KRASNOYARSK 2019" borders the circumference of the coin.

On the back of the second coin is a relief image of the logo of the 29th winter Olympiad, the inscription "UNIVERSIADA DE INVIERNO KRASNOYARSK 2019" borders the circumference of the coin.

The common obverse for both coins represents: at the top "BANK OF RUSSIA" at the bottom "2018", on the left and right branches of laurel and oak, respectively. In the center are the number "10" and the inscription "ruble" indicating the value of the currency. Within the figure "0" in a latent image you see the figure "10" and the inscription "rub". In the lower part the mint mark is shown.
