The Vienna Philharmonic gave what is considered its first performance on March 28, 1842. So in 2017 is celebrated the 175th anniversary of that "Great Concert", and therefore of the founding of the Vienna Philharmonic. Commemorating this event the Münzen Osterreich on January 18 issued a splendid coin that pays homage to a world-famous orchestra with a unique sound.
