On July 21, 1969, a television audience of 600 million people watched in amazement as Neil Armstrong became the first person to set foot on the Moon thanks to a combination of technological ambition, meticulous preparation and organizational genius. This daring company was immortalized by the famous words of Armstrong: "A small step for man, a great leap for humanity".

Celebrating this momentous occasion, the Austrian Mint emits an ingenious coin for the 50th anniversary. The concave obverse of the coin shows the landscape of the Moon with a colored Earth and stars that shine in the darkness in the background, while the convex reverse shows the surface of the Moon, a landscape that made the reality of the universe more palpable than ever.

Although already put on sale by the Austrian Mint the currency will not be issued officially until next May 8.

The coin minted in Proof quality and 925 silver, has a sale price of € 69.20. The 30,000 pieces with which the issue has come are presented as you can see in the image.
