The third of the quarter (currency of 25 cents) of this year 2018 dedicated to the Voyageurs National Park, located in the state of Minnesota, is issued as currency on June 11. The coin belongs to the series "America the Beautiful Quarter", dedicated to emblematic places and national parks of the United States.
The design represents a common loon in the water with a rock cliff in the background. Around the central motif are the inscriptions "VOYAGEURS", "MINNESOTA", "2018" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", a Latin phrase meaning "Of many, one". It is one of the first national slogans in the United States and refers to the integration of the thirteen British colonies in North America to create a single independent country. The design corresponds to Patricia Morris and the engraving to Joseph Menna.
On the obverse of all the coins in the series, President George Washington is represented in a version restored by John Flanagan in 2010 of the original portrait used in 1932 in the Washington Quarter.
