The United States Mint has announced the issuance of a new gold coin as part of its prestigious "American Liberty" program. The coin will be officially launched on August 21, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the country's most fundamental values: freedom.
Since its inception in 2015, the "American Liberty" series has been characterized by exploring innovative representations of American freedom, moving away from the classic allegorical figures that have appeared on coins for more than two centuries. In this 2025 issue, the obverse design embodies the responsibility and care necessary to preserve liberty.
The obverse of the coin features a delicate sunflower motif accompanied by a bee, a symbol of the responsibility necessary to safeguard freedom. The composition also features the inscriptions "LIBERTY," the year of issue "2025," and the legend "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The reverse of the coin features a dynamic, stylized depiction of a moving eagle. The composition includes the inscriptions of the issuing country "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the face value "100 DOLLARS," the weight and purity of the metal "1 OZ. FINE GOLD .9999," and the Latin legend "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (Out of many, one).
The coin is carefully housed in an elegant black case adorned with the gold-tone Liberty Bell emblem. The case also includes the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity and a sleeve that highlights the sunflower motif, perfectly harmonizing with the obverse of the coin.
