What happens once at the branch?
Once at the Banco de España branch, you will have to go to the counter for exchanging euro coins and banknotes. There you can request the commemorative coin and pay for it in other euro coins or banknotes. Please note that they are not obliged to give you coins from a specific year, although they will generally have no problem providing you with what you ask for, as long as it is available.
In most cases, full rolls of coins are delivered, not individual coins. Each roll of 2 euro coins contains 25 pieces, which is equivalent to 50 euros. Once at home, you can open the roll, choose the coins in the best condition for your collection and spend the rest or exchange them with other collectors, both in Spain and internationally.
