With the putting into circulation today December 19 of the new bill of 100 pesos (€ 2.29), the new family of paper money that has had as protagonists the "Native Animals of Argentina" is completed.
The obverse of the sixth and last bill, designed in a vertical manner, is alluding to the Taruca (a kind of deer) that in Argentina has an exclusive geographical distribution in the mountains of the Northwest, with sharp edges and slopes from 1,800 to more than 5,000 meters high.
On the obverse is the portrait of the taruca with ornamental flowers, accompanied by the text "TARUCA MONUMENTO NATURAL NACIONAL". On the right is read "BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA". The security fund represents a mountainous natural environment in the lower sector of the obverse. In the upper sector, the sky and representations of taruca footprints are observed in multiple directions, as a symbol of plurality and ornamental flowers on both edges. In the upper left corner, the letter "C" expresses the value of the ticket in Roman numeral and in the right, the silhouette of the animal.
On the back is shown as the main reason, an artistic recreation of the Cord of Famatina, where this mammal lives. Between the landscape and the bicontinental map of the Argentine Republic, another map is located, with its distribution. On the upper side edges, a set of tarcas is completed by joining the ends of the bill. The silhouettes of the footprints distributed in the background in different directions continue the concept of plurality of the obverse. In the lower left corner, we see a representation of the taruca as an element dedicated to children.
This ticket, sixth and last of the new family "Native animals of Argentina" and all of the series, seek to raise awareness about the preservation of the environment and have greater security measures. The first was the 500 peso bill with the image of the yaguareté, launched in June 2016. The second one was the 200 pesos with the southern right whale, in October of the same year. The third one of 20 pesos has the image of the guanaco, issued in October of 2017. The fourth one of 1000 pesos represents the hormero, being issued in December of 2017. The fifth one of 50 pesos has as protagonist the Andean condor, and was issued in August 2018.
