From the point of view of the acceptance of the coins within the numismatic world, it has much more pull in them to represent animals, than to do the effigies of the presidents or ex-presidents of a country. This is the case of Kenya that has decided to change the design of its circulation coins, not because they can improve aesthetically, but to avoid the glorification of their politicians.
The currency of Kenya is the Kenyan shilling, today a shilling equals 0.0086 euro.
The Central Bank of Kenya unveiled the new coins of one, five, 10 and 20 shillings that have a giraffe, a rhinoceros, a lion and an elephant on the obverse and the coat of arms of Kenya on the back.
