Another new currency of Ukraine from the series «Ancient Cities of Ukraine» was issued by the Bank of Ukraine on 22 August. This time dedicated to the historic city of Galich located in the west of the country and on the banks of the Dniester river. This city gave the name to the historical region of Galitzia or Galicia and was the capital of the Principality of Galich as well as of the Principality of Galich -Volynia until century XIV, when the throne moves to Leópolis.
On the back of the coin is a stylized composition where in the foreground is shown King Danylo of Galicia on horseback with the ancient city of Galich in the background. At the top appears the shield of the city and its name.
The obverse of the coin shows the fragment of a tile of the so-called Griffin pottery. As is customary in all Ukrainian currencies, the national coat of arms of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are also represented.

Ukrainian coins are highly recommended for collecting, first for its beauty, then its large size 35 mm in diameter (the Spanish coin of 30 € has 33 mm) and also for its affordable price, except for some low-cut pieces or Minted in precious metals. That there are many, which will make it almost impossible to have them all.
