On August 22, the Bank of Ukraine issued a bimetallic 5-hryven coin belonging to the series dedicated to its regions (Oblast), this time to Vinnytsia, which marks the 85th anniversary of its founding in 2017. In this coin and in all of the series on one of their faces are represented characteristic images of the area, such as monuments, emblematic buildings or industries that live their villages, and the other shows the shield of the region.
Located in the southwest of Ukraine the Vinnytsia region is very rich in mineral resources. In its depths have been discovered deposits of: granite, kaolin, garnet, fluorite, phosphorites and others. These lands are inextricably linked to the Cossacks, being where some of their first detachments were formed.
Obverse: at the top is shown the emblem of the State of Ukraine, the inscription: National Bank of Ukraine (above), five hryven (below), right the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; In the center a stylized composition of sites, gardens and architecture that we can contemplate in the Oblast of Vinnytsia.
The reverse of the coin represents the coat of arms of the region, in the ring are inscriptions: Vinnytsia region (above), founded in 1932 (below).
