Today Tuesday, April 18, the second series of Spanish coins is put on sale in the "Épocas de Europa" program, with the common theme "Iron and Crystal Age".
This year, in addition to the Royal Mint of Spain, the mints of Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta and Portugal have confirmed their participation in this issue.
These coins are dedicated to the nineteenth century, within the framework of the "Iron and Crystal Age" issue. As a character of the 19th century, the Spanish broadcast is dedicated to Rosalía de Castro, coinciding in 2017 with the 180th anniversary of her birth. The motifs of Iron and Crystal have been represented with the locomotive Mataró and with the Crystal Palace of the Retreat, respectively.

On the back are reproduced three motifs framed in ovals. The upper oval contains an image of the Crystal Palace, located in the Parque del Retiro, in Madrid; The right oval, reproduces a photograph, from the Moreno Archive (Photo Library of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, MECD), of the portrait of the Galician writer Rosalía de Castro drawn by Antonio Portela in 1902; The lower left-hand oval, contains a color image of the replica of the Mataró locomotive, which is exhibited at the Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya in Vilanova i la Geltrú. At the bottom of the coin, horizontally, in two lines and in capital letters, the value of the piece 10 EURO and, on the left, the mark of Ceca.
On the obverse, in the center of the coin and within a circle, is reproduced the portrait of His Majesty King Don Felipe VI, wearing Captain General insignia. To the left, in circular and capital letters, the legend FELIPE VI KING OF SPAIN; To the right, the year of coinage 2017. In the upper left part of the coin, in a circular and capitalized sense, the legend AGE OF IRON AND CRYSTAL. At the bottom of the coin, the common mark adopted by the countries issuing coins dedicated to the Europe Program. The whole bottom of the coin is a five-pointed star.
