The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) has put into circulation the new 50 peso note (1.47 €) with the image of the Andean Condor, which is being distributed progressively since August 15 through the network of bank branches and ATMs throughout the country.

It is the fifth to enter into circulation and has on its front, vertical format, with the portrait of the Andean condor, which represents the Andes Mountains and neighboring mountains. On the back, in a horizontal format, the artistic recreation of its characteristic habitat, Mount Aconcagua, is illustrated. The predominant colors are black and gray. Preserves the size of the bills of the Weight Line.

The obverse, designed vertically, the main motifs are printed in intaglio and backgrounds in Offset. The portrait of the Andean Condor is reproduced with ornamental flowers, accompanied by the text "CÓNDOR ANDINO". On the right is read "BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA". The security fund evokes a mountainous natural environment, in the lower sector of the obverse. In the upper sector: sky and representations of tracks of Andean condor in multiple directions, as a symbol of plurality, and ornamental flowers on both edges. In upper left corner, the letter "L" expresses the value of the ticket in Roman numeral and in the right, the silhouette of the animal.

The reverse side is printed in Offset. An artistic recreation of Mount Aconcagua, habitat of the Andean condor, is observed as the main reason. Between the landscape and the bicontinental map of the Argentine Republic, the distribution map of the Andean condor is located. At the upper side edges, a set of condors is completed by joining the ends of the bill. The silhouettes of the footprints distributed in the background in different directions continue the concept of plurality of the obverse. In the lower left corner there is a representation of the Andean condor as an element dedicated to children.

This ticket, fifth of the new family "Native Animals of Argentina" and all of the series, seek to raise awareness about the preservation of the environment and have greater security measures. The first was the 500 peso bill with the image of the yaguareté, launched in June 2016. The second one was the 200 pesos with the southern right whale, in October of the same year. The third of 20 pesos has the image of the guanaco, issued in October of 2017. The quarter of 1000 pesos represents the hormero, being issued in December of 2017.

After the issuance of this ticket, only the 100-peso series in which the Taruca (a kind of deer) will be represented is left to complete the series.
