The Vatican Numismatic Philatelic Office celebrates the VI Centenary of Filippo Brunelleschi's project at the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence's cathedral, considered one of the most significant construction companies of the entire Renaissance. Constituted by two ogival roofs joined together, the octagonal dome was made between 1418 and 1436 (except the lantern) according to the project that the Florentine architect submitted to a contest in 1418. On March 25, 1436 the Florentine cathedral was consecrated by Pope Eugenius IV.

The series is available in two versions, one with silver coin and the other with gold coin. In the 20 euros of silver Abraham is represented prostrate before three men with a symbolic gesture of greeting and welcome. Abraham, welcoming the passers-by, not only offers them a rest, but he also reserves a generous attention to God because he is aware that in every passerby there is a God who visits us. Symbolically, the scene responds to the Holy Father's invitation to communities to be hospitable like Abraham.
