Today we are going to know the Mexican investment currency par excellence, the so-called "Libertad", known worldwide among those who collect investment currency or also denominated bullion type . The coin of which we speak is issued since 1982 in different weights, diameters and metals, and since 1996 has the current design. Only the silver coin can be sold per year about 1 million pieces.
The reverse of the coin shows a Winged Victory, represented in the monument of the Angel of Independence, and as background the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.
As a result of the great acceptance of gold and silver coins belonging to the Libertad Series, it was considered convenient to redesign the reverse of these coins to make it more attractive to the public. The most important change of this design with the one of its predecessor, is that the monument of the Angel of the Independence that is represented in the reverse is in another perspective different.
The obverse of the silver ounce shows the national coat of arms of Mexico surrounded by different designs of eagles that have been used as National Coat of Arms over the years, as well as the eagle that appears in the Codex Mendocino.
