Constituted
in 1967, the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) celebrates its half-century
of life in 2017. To commemorate this anniversary, a collectible coin has
been issued in silver alluding to the "50th anniversary of the creation
of the Central Bank of Uruguay".
The institution has technical,
administrative and financial autonomy in the terms of the Constitution
of the Republic and the Organic Charter. Its main purposes are price
stability and the regulation and supervision of the financial system.
The piece is coined silver 900, has a diameter of 37 millimeters, weighs 25 grams and presents ribbed singing.
The obverse shows a golden sun that surrounds him in the upper part the
legend "Eastern Republic of Uruguay". The image is completed with the
legend "50 years of the Central Bank of Uruguay" and in the exercise the
face value.
The reverse, reflects a partial view of the Mural
Port Construction of the artist Walter Deliotti that shines in the main
hall of the institution. Above can be observed the dates of foundation
and commemoration of the celebrated fiftieth anniversary.
