Coins dedicated to cars in general are not very common, but much less the one that yields tribute to a particular model as it is the case of the piece that has just been emitted by the Italian mint to commemorate the "60 Anniversary of the Fiat 500 '.
With a face of 5 euros, coined on 925 silver of purity and designed by the artist Claudia Momoni, a total of 4,000 coins have been put on sale at the price of 40 € plus shipping costs in the online shop of the Italian IPZS.
The coin shows on its obverse the first model of the Fiat 500 that went on sale in 1957 and the model that is marketed today. On the outside of the circumference we can read the name of the issuing country "Repubblica Italiana".
The reverse shows the peculiar lines of car, which with a few modifications has lasted over time. We can also appreciate the steering wheel and dashboard of the vehicle in its first version. The inscriptions are: year of launch of the utility, and year in which the coin is issued and its 60th anniversary is celebrated "1957 -2107", the face value "5 euro", its trade name with the same typeface that used the automobile company "FIAT 500" and the name of the designer of the currency "Momoni" (Claudia Momoni).
