Under the name of "Justice and Character" is issued on November 22 the second coin of the series dedicated to the "Empress Maria Theresa of Austria" dedicated to the Mint of Austria. This piece and all of the series have a face of 20 euros, is coined in 925 silver of purity, features a high relief engraving and a Proof quality. As for its volume of emission, this is 30,000 pieces.
An affectionate wife, single mother of 16 children and ruler, Empress Maria Theresa was the prototype of the modern woman. This series of four coins celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth of Maria Theresa in 1717, and wants to underline the multifaceted role played by the Empress in the history of Austria.
With an amalgam of original motifs taken from medals emitted during its 40 years of reign (1740-1780), the obverse of the coin Justice and Character shows the empress as the Roman goddess Justice. The reverse of the coin presents a portrait, based on a medal of Antony Wiedemann (1724-1792), by Maria Teresa with her husband, Francis I.
