The Royal Canadian Mint issued a coin world first investment made by an ounce of pure silver (99.99%) in tribute to Superman, superhero created in the 30s by Jerome Siegel and Joe Shuster, considered the first hero of the story comic book with supernatural powers.

The coin shows the famous "S" Superman wears on his chest, on a background of radial lines recorded accurately emanating from the center of the coin. We can also see a micro-laser engraved mark on a small maple leaf in which the year of issue "16" appears, making this investment piece is considered ultra-safe against counterfeiting.

The obverse shows, apart from its face value ($ 5) and the year of issue (2016), the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt designed, under the caption "Elizabeth II".

The container boxes of 500 of these coins are packed in a red and blue box whose label is adorned with a representation of the superhero, and each tube 25 pieces carries a security seal designed tamperproof.

A million coins are being issued, the approximate retail price is about 20 euros change; It has a diameter of 38mm and a corresponding one troy ounce (31.1 grams) weight.
