With the new 200 pesos bill (€ 22.6), the renewal of paper money in Mexico continues. The denomination of 200 pesos began to be put into circulation yesterday, Monday, September 2. The new tickets show improvements in their security, functionality and durability characteristics, as well as graphic motifs that represent the historical identity and natural heritage of Mexico.
The predominant color of this new 200-peso bill is green, the substrate on which it is printed is cotton and has measures 139 mm long x 65 mm high.
The obverse depicts the historical process of the Independence of Mexico with Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, who on September 16, 1810, launched the cry of Dolores starting the independence process, for which he is known as the "Father of the Fatherland" , and José María Morelos y Pavón, who continued the insurgent fight to the death of Hidalgo, and is known as the "Servant of the Nation."
The effigies of Hidalgo and Morelos are accompanied by a vignette depicting the "Bell of Dolores", which was used to call the town and start the independence movement in Dolores, Hidalgo.
The reverse depicts the ecosystem of thickets and deserts through the golden eagle in the El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve and the Great Desert of Altar, in Sonora, recognized by UNESCO as a natural heritage of humanity.

This ticket belongs to a new family called «G» that will comprise 6 denominations: 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 pesos, the latter will only be issued if it is considered that said ticket is required to meet the needs of the country. In the case of the denomination of 20 pesos, it will gradually cease to circulate as a ticket and be replaced by currency.
The first of this new family of banknotes to enter into circulation was that of 500 pesos, with the image of Benito Juárez on the obverse, issued on August 27, 2018 and which I showed you here in his day.
