I just received the first image and official data from another of the friends of Numismatic Visual. This time from France, Philippe shows us the commemorative 2-euro coin that Monaco issued during the month of December to celebrate the "200 Years of the Prince's Carabinieri Company".

I know the image is not good, but it is very interesting to officially confirm the emission of 15,000 units of it, all in Proof finish.

It is also important to mention that the coin can be purchased during the month of December, at the online store of the Museum of timbre and Monnaies de Monaco at the price of 120 € plus shipping.

The image you see above and the information has been provided by Philippe, the French website EUROCOLLECTION80.free.fr from which I take this opportunity to thank.

Company of Carabineros del Príncipe
The Prince Carabinieri Company is the main unit of the Monaco military force ceremony. Although the defense of Monaco is the responsibility of France, it maintains a small force for the protection of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco.

It was formed by Prince Honoratus IV in 1817 for the protection of the Principality. The Company is about 100 officers and men, while non-commissioned officers and soldiers are local, members of the Bureau have generally served in the French army. Along with the local fire service, the Carabineros form the total of the public force of Monaco. In addition to their duties on watch, patrols watch the beaches and coastal waters of the Principality, as well as other functions throughout the palace in the Villa de Monaco.
