The Ministry of Finance of Greece has provided information on the issuance of two commemorative 2-euro coins to be issued 2016 during the last half of this month, and therefore the year. Both agree on date, day 16 BU and Proof versions are issued and 23 do those for circulation. The reasons for the coins are the "150 years since the fire occurred Arkadi Monastery" and "120 Years of Birth of Dimitri Mitropoulos'.

Today we are going to focus on dedicated to Arkadi Monastery, of which I'll show presentations with which will go on sale as well as other data related to this issue.

As I said on December 16 they will go on sale versions designed for collectors, BU and Proof, and on December 23 will be circulated the bulk of the issue. The issue volume for the currency is 750,000 pieces, broken down as follows: 742,000 in rolls distributed by banks, as BU 6,500 in a purse and 1,500 in Proof quality presented in a case.

The reason reproduces the Monastery of Arkadi. Inscribed in the center, are the words' Arkadi monastery "and along the inner edge to the left" HELLENIC REPUBLIC "in Greek. the year of issue "2016" below the central registration, a paddle (the mintmark of the House of Greek currency) appears and on the top right. At the bottom right is the artist's monogram (Georgios Stamatopoulos).

Although the name that was presented at the time this coin was "150 Years of the Holocaust at the Monastery of Arkadi" finally changed to "150 years since the fire occurred Arkadi Monastery." The fact that the currency refers was the precursor of the emancipation of Crete Turkey in 1898 and the subsequent unification with Greece in 1913.
