The Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Vatican City presents the new series of coins in Euros dated 2019. The series consists of eight values (2 and 1 Euros, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 cents) , the reverse is common to all countries adhering to the single European currency. On the obverse of all the coins is represented the shield of Pope Francis, Sovereign of the State of the Vatican City, the inscription "Città del Vaticano" and twelve stars.

The series consists of eight values. The reverse presents the same characteristics for all countries that adhere to the single European currency; On the obverse is reproduced the coat of arms of Pope Francis, sovereign of the State of the Vatican City, with the mention "Vatican City" and twelve stars. The series is available in two versions, one with a silver coin of 20 euro and the other with a gold coin of 50 euro. The themes chosen for the two currencies mentioned are: respect for the natural environment and the created, including this year a special reference to the encyclical of Pope Francis "Laudato si '", and the Family, or, the first form of « community ", the basic nucleus of the same society, called to bear witness to the love of God in the world.
