The Bank of Ukraine issued on October 12 an investment coin with facial of 1 hryvnia, minted on an ounce of pure silver, dedicated to Archangel Michael, one of the most respected and beloved personages in Ukraine, as well as patron of his capital , Kiev.
Although centered on the silver coin, this is a bullion coin also has gold versions with different weights, being minted every year and intended especially for investor collectors.
The reverse of the coin shows the image of the archangel Michael, surrounded by part of the text of a poem written by the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.
The obverse of the coin shows in the center the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine and its issue year "2017". At the top the shield and inscription "National Bank of Ukraine". In the lower semicircle and in letters the face value of the coin "Un Hryvnia".
