We begin the numismatic year with the first issue of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre – Real Casa de la Moneda. This coin anticipates one of the most important sporting events of the coming year: the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina 2026. On this occasion, the inaugural coin of the year is dedicated to the “Spanish Olympic Team 2026”.
The Coin
The reverse features an image of a snowboarding athlete. To the left is the logo of the Spanish Olympic Committee; below, the mint mark. On the top right, in two lines and in capital letters, is the face value of the coin, 10 EURO. At the bottom of the coin, in a circular direction and in capital letters, is the legend EQUIPO OLÍMPICO ESPAÑOL 2026.
The obverse features a portrait of His Majesty King Felipe VI, to the left. At the top, in a circular fashion and in capital letters, the legend FELIPE VI KING OF SPAIN appears. At the bottom, between two dots, the year of issue 2025. A pearl border surrounds the motifs and legends.
