To end the series of coins dedicated to the most illustrious figures of Portuguese architecture, both nationally and internationally, the INCM will issue on December 2 a coin dedicated to Gonçalo Byrne, one of the most prestigious Portuguese architects, author of a vast work that has already been awarded several times at national and international level, with special relevance in heritage and cultural works.

On this coin, created by the sculptor Eloísa Byrne, appears the representation of the Maritime Traffic Control Tower of the Port of Lisbon, an award-winning project and one of the most emblematic of the work of the architect Gonçalo Byrne. The legends are: "Architect Gonçalo Byrne", "2020", "Casa da Moeda" and the name of the author.

The obverse shows the coat of arms of Portugal, the face value "7.5 EURO" and the name of the issuing country "PORTUGAL".

State Quarters

Initiated in 1999, the 50 State Quarters collection of the United States Mint was an initiative that for 10 years honored each of the nation's states in the order in which they ratified the Constitution or were admitted to the United States. the Union. The designs dedicated to the states are displayed on the reverse of the 25-cent coins, while the obverse design features President George Washington.

America the Beautiful Quarters

The common obverse of all the coins show President George Washington, in a version restored by John Flanagan in 2010 from the original portrait used in 1932 in the Washington Quarter.

Beyond the history behind it, which we will learn later, the coin that I am showing you today is a visual joy, I dare say that it is one of the best coins we have seen here in the last year. It is a piece issued and minted in Slovakia by the state Mint, Mincovňa Kremnica, which portrays the violent battles for control of Great Moravia and one of its protagonists, Svätopluk II.

The design of the obverse of the coin represents two warriors of the time in combat. The Slovak coat of arms appears on the left side of the design, with the year of issue '2020' above it. Along the upper edge, mainly in the left quadrant, is the name of the issuing country 'SLOVENSKO', which is separated from the central image by a semicircular band of period ornamentation. On the lower edge is the mint mark of the Kremnica Mint (Mincovňa Kremnica), consisting of the letters 'MK' placed between two dies, and the stylized letters 'LR' in reference to the designer of the coin Roman Lugár.

On the reverse is an imaginary portrait of Svätopluk II on horseback and, in the background, a semicircular band of period ornamentation. To the right of the portrait is the coin denomination '100 EURO. Along the edge of the upper half of the design is the inscription '894 - 899 NITRIANSKE KNIEŽA', indicating the years as Prince of Nitra. Along the lower edge is the name 'SVÄTOPLUK II'.

 Anul acesta, Sesiunea Națională de Rapoarte Arheologice se desfășoară, în premieră, la Muzeul Județean Buzău. Ministerul Culturii din România, în parteneriat cu instituția noastră, a decis desfășurarea online a acestei prestigioase manifestări științifice, având în vedere condițiile speciale din această perioadă. 
 Cronica Cercetărilor Arheologice din acest an cuprinde peste 120 de rapoarte arheologice, reprezentând cercetări arheologice sistematice, săpături preventive și de salvare, cercetări realizate de către toate muzeele și institutele de arheologie din țară.

Continuăm şi în acest an tradiția organizării simpozionului nostru, de această dată în mediul virtual din cauza contextului creat de criza sanitară mondială.

Simpozionul „Biologia şi dezvoltarea durabilă” este cunoscut ca un reper în viaţa ştiinţifică şi culturală a Bacăului, în acest an ajungând la Ediţia a XVIII – a.
Această ediție este specială nu doar prin modul de desfășurare, dar mai ales prin faptul că comemorează o personalitate marcantă a biologiei românești, pe Prof. univ. dr. Constantin Toma – membru al Academiei Române (1935-2020) trecut de curând în lumea celor drepți.

Temele generale în cadrul cărora se vor desfăşura discuţiile sunt:
Diversitatea organismelor acvatice
Diversitatea organismelor terestre
Genetica si biotehnologii
Protecția mediului
Geologie și paleontologie
Muzeologie, muzeografie, proiecte și educaţie muzeală
Astronomie
Alături de specialiştii instituţiei noastre, vor fi prezenţi on-line specialişti în biologie, cercetători, muzeografi, doctori şi doctoranzi, precum şi profesori universitari din instituţii de prestigiu din ţară (București, Iaşi) şi din Republica Moldova (Chișinău).

”Cercetarea unui oraș roman pierdut în apele Dunării: DIERNA (Orșova veche)”

Vineri, 27 noiembrie, începând cu ora 12:00, Muzeul Național al Banatului va transmite live Simpozionul Național dedicat vechilor descoperiri și cercetari arheologice de la Dierna.

Aceasta reunește preocupările mai multor specialiști din România și Serbia legate de studiul Regiunii Clisurii Dunării, cu o dezbatere aplicată asupra importantului sit arheologic ce l-a reprezentat Orșova veche până la dispariția acestei zone în apele lacului de acumulare a proiectului hidrotehnic Porțile de Fier. ”Se încearcă cu această ocazie reconstituirea planului săpăturilor de salvare ce au fost efectuate aici de „Grupul de Cercetări Porțile de Fier” din care a făcut parte și regretata doamnă prof.univ.dr. Doina Benea, cea care va rămâne ulterior omul care va publica cele mai consistente studii dedicate Diernei. Practic prin acest eveniment ne dorim să ducem mai departe munca domniei sale și în acest fel să-i omagiem eforturile de a salva de la uitare unul dintre cele mai înfloritoare orașe romane ale provinciei Dacia. Tot cu ocazia acestui eveniment care se suprapune în mod fericit cu Noaptea Cercetătorilor, vernisăm și o expoziție virtuală proiectată să devină o adevărată bază de date despre vechile descoperiri de la Dierna-Orșova”, ne transmite colegul nostru dr.
