Schaffer/Stambuliu Plate Coin 

Ferdinand I copper-nickel Pattern "Mint Error - Broadstruck" 2 Lei 1924 UNC Details (Rim Damage) NGC, Brussels mint, Schaffer/Stambuliu-136-1.1 (Plate Coin). A rare Romanian error perhaps prone to the noted rim damage, yet the superfluous area from the oversized flan forms an enticing crescent moon shape to one side of the specimen. Very desirable as the plate coin for the Schäffer/Stambuliu reference.

Socialist Republic aluminum-bronze Uniface Specimen "Probe" Pattern 5 Bani ND (1956) UNC Details (Environmental Damage) PCGS, Bucharest mint, cf. KM83.2 (obverse, business strike), Schaffer/Stambuliu-219. By H. Ionescu. 20mm. Quite challenging as a Pattern, with no previous auction results to be found by this cataloger. Despite the noted damage evident on the reverse, the obverse displays an enticing toning pattern of olive and baby blue.
