Issued in both silver and pure gold and in multiple formats and qualities, but with the same design, we already know the motif that one of the quintessential investment coins, the Chinese Panda, will present in 2023.
Pandas are unique animals that have captured the imagination of people both in China and in the West. His black and white coats, combined with his deceptively docile appearance, have led to his image appearing on these coins.
Focusing on the most popular version of this coin, the 30-gram silver one, until 2016 its weight was 1 troy ounce (31.10 grams), the motif represented, common to all versions, shows a panda bear looking out of the top of a tree, with a second panda climbing up it. Also shown are inscriptions of the denomination and weight of the coin, as well as the purity of the type of precious metal used in the coin.
The obverse of each coin features the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the main structure of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, along with the official name of the country and the year of issue.
