Aquaman is the protagonist of the fourth coin in the series dedicated to The Justice League. This series, which began with the pieces dedicated to Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman, issued in 2021, will initially consist of six coins, in which the Flash and Cyborg will also be represented, in addition to the other four characters already mentioned.
The coin features an image of Aquaman™, whose leap out of the water generates ripples. To his right appears the iconic Aquaman logo. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "250 DOLLARS", "ELIZABETH II", "2022" and "NIUE". Metal content (1 ounce of pure silver), Aquaman copyright mark, and DC Comics copyright appear on the bottom edge as signs of authenticity.
The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the name of the country and its face value.
The coin has been minted by the New Zealand Mint, a private company located in Auckland, New Zealand, which buys precious metals from international sources and then produces coins. The name of the issuing country on the coin is the Island of Niue.
There are two versions with the same design for the coin, in one ounce of silver or one ounce of gold. It has a fairly limited print run, only 15,000 pieces for the silver one and 150 for the gold one. The coins have already been issued.
