On September 26, the Bank of Ukraine issued a new collector's coin with a face value of 5 hryvnias, with which it wants to value the workers in the energy sector who work tirelessly, trying and ensuring that electricity continues to reach homes. of the country despite the continuous attacks on its energy infrastructures.This is how the Bank of Ukraine presents the issuance of this new currency
The commemorative coin is dedicated to workers linked to the Ukrainian energy sector who not only provide electricity to the country, despite threats to life and health, despite enemy missiles and drones, but who have done and continue doing the impossible every day and every night: restoring our country's energy infrastructure, returning electricity and heating to Ukrainian homes, giving us the opportunity to live and work for Victory. It really takes a lot of bravery and courage to do this, and the Ukrainian “warriors of light” have it! The efforts of all these workers are invaluable, and all Ukrainians are immensely grateful to them for their professionalism and resilience, for their heroism and tireless work in extraordinary circumstances,
The obverse of the coin shows a stylized composition on a mirror background, symbolizing the energy system of Ukraine. Each petal of this symbolic sunflower, like a lantern, illuminates our country. Symbolically, the sunflower inflorescence also represents the dawn that will surely come after the worst night. Despite all the enemy missile attacks and the enemy's desire to spread darkness, this sunflower will shine. On both sides of the sunflower there is the inscription UKRAINE (left) and the small state emblem of Ukraine (right). The coin has a smooth edge with the inscriptions: on the face of the coin, 5 Hryvnia, the year of minting, 2023 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the coin appears a stylized trident in the form of shiny, unbreakable blocks, which transforms into the letter "E" when the coin is rotated, and which is the first letter of the words "energy" and "power." The composition is dedicated to energy workers, our “warriors of light”, who work tirelessly and selflessly, returning light and maintaining the energy front of Ukraine.
