It is at least curious that a Correos philatelic-numismatic issue that has been put up for sale this year to commemorate Clara Campoamor on the 50th anniversary of her death, has resorted to a coin issued in 2011 when this year we have had one dedicated to the same subject. In short, they will know their reasons, I am going to limit myself to presenting this new product.

Correos issues this set (folder) that unites philately and numismatics, dedicated to Clara Campoamor on the 50th anniversary of her death. Campoamor was one of the first Post Office telegraph operators and one of the great figures in the fight for equality and women's rights in Spain.

Deeply committed to the defense of women's rights, Clara Campoamor is the main architect of the approval of women's suffrage in Spain, a milestone that was approved, after a heated parliamentary debate, on October 1, 1931, during the Second Republic. .

After the outbreak of the Civil War, Clara Campoamor went into exile first in France and later in Argentina. After the coup in that country, in 1955, she went into exile again in Lausanne (Switzerland), the city where she died in 1972.

The folder contains a selection of four stamps (Clara Campoamor, Bicentennial of the Ateneo de Madrid, Gender Equality and 75th anniversary of the vote for women in Spain), 8M block sheet and a 20 euro coin for International Women's Day.

The reverse reproduces a portrait of Clara Campoamor, from the Ministry of Culture, General Archive of the Administration, State Social Media Fund . On the right, the Mint mark. On the left, in two lines and in capital letters, the value of the piece, 20 EURO; below, a circle containing a latent image with the number 11 and the mint mark. At the top of the coin, on two lines, in a circular layout and in capital letters, the legend CENTENARY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 1911-2011. At the bottom of the coin, in a circular layout and in capital letters, the legend CLARA CAMPOAMOR. Surrounding the motives and legends one pearl beading.

The obverse reproduces the superimposed effigies of Kings Juan Carlos and Sofía.

The print run of this product is limited to 500 copies and is priced at 90 euros.
