€ 100 coin - Apostolic Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council: Dei Verbum

The Dei Verbum is a dogmatic constitution issued by the Second Vatican Council whose theme is Divine Revelation and Holy Scripture (the Word of God). It was promulgated by Paul VI on November 18, 1965 and is one of the main documents of the Second Vatican Council. The title refers to both the Word of God, or Holy Scripture, and the figure of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, mentioned at the beginning of the document.

In the coin we find Christ, the central figure of the Divine Revelation, represented in the traditional iconography of the blessing Christ. At the bottom are the Twelve Apostles, on whom the Church is founded by divine mandate, and from whom comes the transmission of the Gospel to all generations. On the obverse, next to the papal shield, the symbols of the four evangelists appear.
