To mark the centenary of the birth of László Nagy, one of the most prominent Hungarian poets of the 20th century, the National Bank of Hungary has issued a commemorative bimetallic coin with a face value of 100 forints.

László Nagy (1925-1978) was one of the most influential figures in contemporary Hungarian poetry. Born in Iszkáz, he began his career as an illustrator and graphic designer, but soon rose to prominence in the literary field thanks to a poetic work that combines refined language with intense lyrical and symbolic content. His verses, imbued with Hungarian folklore and references to nature, reflect a profound sensitivity to the human condition. A member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and a multiple award-winner, his legacy remains one of the pillars of modern Hungarian poetry.

The central motif on the coin's thematic obverse is a portrait of László Nagy, inspired by a photograph taken by Demeter Balla in 1971. Behind the poet's figure is a graphic composition depicting a Pegasus embraced by its rider, accompanied by the manuscript of his 1976 poem, "Psalm, the Unique," and a hand-drawn version by the author himself, complementing the verses. Above this scene, in the upper part of the inner core, the initial words of the draft can be read: "I speak to you, Lord." This composition—which includes the Pegasus and the manuscript—was published as a facsimile in the posthumous volume " Experiment Against Pain" (1980). The inner core features the dates "1925–1978" in an arc on the right, marking the poet's birth and death. On the outer ring, following the contour of the coin, the name "NAGY LÁSZLÓ" is inscribed on the right and "MAGYARORSZÁG" (Hungary) on the left, identifying the issuer. The year of issue, "2025," is written at the bottom.

On the other hand, the reverse of the coin is identical to the current circulation coin of the same denomination, which shows the face value and the letters BP as the Budapest mint mark.
