On December 6, the Czech National Bank issued a new silver coin with a face of 200 crowns to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of Czech architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel.

Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel

Born on February 3, 1677 in Prague, he was the author of numerous buildings in the Czech territory, built in the so-called Gothic Baroque style. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters “Č” and “M”, is located on the central window of the church.

On the other hand, the reverse of the coin shows the Church of San Juan Nepomuceno in Zelená Hora. At the top of the piece there is the inscription of the name of the architect «JAN BLAŽEJ SANTINI AICHEL», under the church, we see the date of his death “1723” and the issuance of the coin “2023”.
