On March 17, the State Bank of Pakistan issued a 50 rupee commemorative face coin to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Pakistani Senate.
The Senate of Pakistan or Aiwan-e-Bala Pakistan, constitutionally House of Federation, is the upper legislative chamber of Pakistan's bicameral parliament. The Senate of Pakistan, which has equal representatives from all Pakistani provinces, is a permanent House, a symbol of a process of continuity in national affairs.
On the obverse of the coin is a crescent moon and a five-pointed star facing northwest. Around it at the top are inscribed the words "ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN" in Urdu script. Below, there are two ears of wheat crossed upwards, and below the year of issue "2023". On the right side we see the inscriptions of its face value of "50" rupees and the word "RUPEA" in Urdu script.
While in the center of the reverse the emblem of the Senate of Pakistan is shown, with the number of its anniversary "50" on the right. At the top is the inscription "Golden Jubilee of the Senate of Pakistan" in Urdu, and below the central emblem, the duration of the golden jubilee (1973-2023) is written.
