The "Flora and Fauna" series of coins, which the Central Bank of Luxembourg has been issuing for some years in collaboration with the "Hëllef fir d'Natur" Foundation, is dedicated to species that require special protection and monitoring. This year the BCL, together with scientists, is concerned about the decline of the agile lizard in Luxembourg. This reptile, in danger of extinction, is the largest of the lizards that can be found in Luxembourg.
This coin dedicated to the Agile Lizard has the same characteristics as the rest of the coins in the series. These are coins composed of silver and a Nordic gold alloy, they have 5 euro facets, are bimetallic and are minted in Proof quality.
The coin features an agile lizard on its reverse in a composition that represents its natural habitat. In addition, her scientific name "Lacerta Agilis" and her face value "€ 5 uro" appear.
The coin minted by the Dutch mint Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt, shows on its obverse the profile image of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, the name of the country and the year of issue 2021.
The coin that has an approximate price of € 50, is presented as the one you can see in the image.
