Since last December 13, Algeria has a new circulation currency of 10 Algerian dinars. The piece is dedicated to renewable energy sources, an important field in which the country plans to develop on a large scale, thanks also in part to its 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, since Algeria has a completely favorable geography and climate. for the exploitation of renewable energies, and especially solar energy, especially in the central and southern areas of the Algerian Republic.
The country, dominated mainly by the use of gas and oil, has set a goal of achieving 15,000 megawatts of solar energy by 2035, mainly installing solar power plants in various areas of Algeria.
On the back of the coins we can see, in the center of a circle, the face value of 10 dinars, and surrounding this, there are the inscriptions of: the name of the Bank of Algeria "بنك الجزائر" at the top, the denomination of the coin «دينار» (dinar) at the bottom, and on both sides a five-pointed star.
While on the front of the piece a composition is shown where several energy sources appear: wind turbines, photovoltaic panels and the sun itself shining on the desert dunes, thus symbolizing all of this the energy of the future.
