TOPOR (CELT)

În colecția de arheologie a Muzeului Județean Olt se păstrează câteva topoare de tip celt, de tip transilvănean, descoperite pe teritoriul județului Olt. Am ales să prezentăm unul dintre ele. Piesa a fost descoperită la Slatina și provine dintr-o donație (Profesor Săvescu). A fost realizat din bronz, prin turnare într-un tipar bivalv, fiind ulterior forjat, șlefuit și ascuțit. Tăișul este ascuțit și ușor curbat. Decorul este ungiular, fiind realizat în relief. Marginea manșonului este ușor îngroșată.
Datare: secolele XII-X a.Chr. (Hallstatt timpuriu).
Dimensiuni: L = 81,7 mm; l = 38,4 mm; D orificiu = 40,2 x 30,8 mm; G = 150 g.

SOCKETED AXE
In the archeology collection of the Olt County Museum, several socketed axes, Transylvanian-type axes, discovered on the territory of Olt county, are preserved. I chose to present one of them. The object was discovered in Slatina (Olt county, Romania) and comes from a donation (Professor Săvescu). It was made of bronze, cast in a bivalved mold, then forged, polished and sharpened. The cut is sharp and slightly curved. The decoration is angular, being made in relief. The edge of the sheath is slightly thickened.
Dating: 12th-10th centuries BC (early Hallstatt).
Dimensions: L = 81.7 mm; w = 38.4 mm; hole D = 40.2 x 30.8 mm; W = 150 g.
