On February 8, the last coin of the America the Beautiful Quarters series started in 2010. Eleven years later, the 56 quarter-dollar coins that make up the collection are completed, in which national parks and national parks have been represented. emblematic places of the country, located in each of the states and territories that make up the United States.

This last 25 cent coin is issued as a circulation coin on February 8 and is dedicated to the "Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site", located in the State of Alabama. It is intended to honor the heroic actions and achievements of the famous Tuskegee Airmen or Tuskegee Airmen.

This group of African-American aviators were trained at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama and excelled during World War II. It was made up of almost 1,000 pilots and more than 15,000 people who participated as support personnel. The National Historic Site that remembers them, preserves five historic structures used during flight training in World War II.


The design of the Chris. Costello represents an airman from Tuskegee, a popular name given to a group of African-American airmen from the United States who trained at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, preparing to join the fight during World War II, with the Moton Field control tower in the bottom. The pilot looks up with pride and confidence as two P-51 Mustangs pass overhead. The inscription “THEY FOUGHT TWO WARS” arches across the top as a reference to the dual battles the Tuskegee airmen fought: fascism abroad and racial discrimination at home. The inscriptions are "TUSKEGEE AIRMEN", "ALABAMA", "2021" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM".

The Serie


On the obverse of all the coins in this collection, President George Washington is depicted, in a version restored by John Flanagan in 2010, from the original portrait used in 1932 in the Washington Quarter.

Remember that this series began in 2010, each year five new designs have been issued and with the one I have shown you today, it is finished. It is a collection suitable for all pockets and of great beauty.
