The tenth and final coin of the “Threatened Wild Fauna of Peru” series dedicated to the “Giant Frog of the Titicaca” was put into circulation last November 4. This coin and all of the collection, are circulating coins with 1 sun facial. This collection of coins aims, through a means of payment for mass use, to raise awareness about the importance of the preservation of the species of our environment and the care of the environment, as well as to continue with the impulse of numismatic culture in Peru and in the world.
On the reverse, in the central part, there is a composition with the image of the Titicaca Giant Frog . There is also a geometric design of vertical lines, the National Mint brand, as well as the frog's scientific name: Telmatobius culeus, the denomination in number and the name of the monetary unit. In the side of the denomination concentric circles shown with a Hummingbird draft as I symbol series. The phrase GIANT FROG OF THE TITICACA is shown at the
top.
On the obverse one can see in the center the Coat of Arms of Peru surrounded by the legend "CENTRAL RESERVE BANK OF PERU", the year of minting and an inscribed polygon with eight sides that forms the fillet of the coin.
This is the tenth coin, of the ten that make up the Threatened Wildlife Series of Peru, of which 10 million units of this piece have been issued.
